Time: 9 am to 4pm
Location: Gees Bees Honey Company, 538 River Rd, Ottawa
Cost: $129 + HST (Total $145.77). Includes lunch. Bee jacket and gloves available to borrow for the hands-on portion or bring your own.
Through a mix of classroom and hands-on learning, our introductory beekeeping workshop will give you the knowledge you need to get started. Morning classroom topics include: introduction to honeybee biology, beekeeping equipment, seasonal hive management, bee diseases and their treatment, and Ontario regulations and resources. In the afternoon, you will learn how to inspect a beehive and handle frames of bees. Class size is limited to 12 participants.
