Linden Honey, also known as Basswood Honey, is a beautiful light honey with a buttery yellow to golden colour and sometimes a subtle greenish tint.
 
It has a pleasantly sweet, slightly fruity flavour with distinctive notes of mint, herbs and lemon. It’s especially lovely in tea, particularly mint and herbal teas, and pairs beautifully with soft cheeses like Camembert.
 
For a simple cheese board, try it with Camembert, green grapes, pecans and a crusty baguette. It’s also delicious drizzled over poached pears or seared scallops.
 
Linden Honey comes from the nectar of Linden trees, including our native Basswood trees, which bloom in Ontario in late June and early July. Sometimes called the “bee tree,” Basswood produces clusters of small yellow flowers that can be absolutely covered in honeybees when they’re in bloom.
